Bachata dance style is a form of social dance that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 1960's and it is a form of Latin social dance. Bachata almost never made it outside of the Dominican Republic because a dictator named Trujillo, who preferred Merengue to Bachata, almost stopped it from gaining popularity.
