An Average Of Three People Shot Every Month In Texas By Children
I came across a statistic that a toddler (1,2, or 3 years old) has shot a person every week in the United States since 2016. Accidental shootings by children keep happening.
\
According to CBS at least 895 children five and under found a gun and unintentionally shot themselves or someone else from 2015 to 2022 in the US.
\
2023 was one of the worst years on record. Texas is one of the places where this is happening the most.

So you need to keep your gun unloaded and locked in a safe. But don't worry. When that imaginary bad guy breaks in you can ask him to hang on a sec while you get it out and load it and then you promise to say, "Draw, Podner". Well, at least this way you have a gun you can take down to the range to go bang a few times. Might be fun.
Or you can keep it out and loaded and accept having at least a couple friends and loved ones shot for every intruder deterred.
Your choice.
I'd be interested to hear which parts those are, and if they are affordable for an elder on a fixed income. Because I don't see that particular combination anywhere in the US.
I was born and raised in SE Texas. I'm familiar with heat. I like it better than I do cold. Thanks!
