Neither Biden or Trump have much of a choice, it is either ww3 or total collapse of the $/Euro/Pound and western hygemony, in other words capitalism.
Just like in the 30s the only option capitalists have is fascism and wide spread wars, so they can utilize the opportunity to set their new rules and jump start the game under their control.
