Who wants to bet Trumps crowd sizes are even small for this #inauguration and he gets mad and lies about it? #trump
Bet? I thought both of those were givens.

LOL! "Gets mad"? More than he already is???

Despite desperately begging all his misled base: Not even one quarter of the American population voted for Guinness candidate record liar, convicted rapist & convicted felon — despite massive voter suppression by the anti-Lincoln fake "Republicans".

These moves are all just strategic, right? If not, then “going along to get along” is just appeasement and complicity. It’s all doomed in the end.

It's funny when you only watch short sections of it, the whole film in one sitting becomes kind of a redundant #SouthPark overload.

I tried to watch it; it’s humorous, but not a good movie.

Ephedra sinica;

Ephedra sinica is a specific variety of Ephedra that produces adequate enough ammounts of a phytochemical called ephedrine for it to be worth while. It's native habitat is in China, where it has been used for thousands of years as a recreational drug and medicine. It's a stimulant. It's used for respiratory ailments, as it helps to open up the lungs, and with breathing. Pharmaceutical companies process large quantities of the dried plant material, hints why there's so much sabotage going on in the ethnobotanical industry. The ethnobotanical industry and academia are directly related to one another. A lot of people think it's a bunch of hippies selling drugs, but it is a critical industry because it directly competes with big pharmaceutical companies interest.

Incredible essay about the importance and challenges of digital archival by Maxwell Neely-Cohen, as well as the various imperfect strategies to achieve “century-scale” digital archives.

lil.law.harvard.edu/century-sc…

"We picked a century scale because most physical objects can survive 100 years in good care. It is attainable, and yet we selected it because the design of mainstream digital storage mediums are nowhere close to even considering this mark."

1/

#archival

"The librarians and archivists of the world have been tackling the challenges of digital preservation for decades—the issue is that no one else is. The real solution to century-scale storage, especially at scale, is to change this reality. Successful century-scale storage will require a massive investment in digital preservation, a societal commitment. Politicians, governments, companies, and investors will have to be convinced, incentivized, or even bullied." 12/
"Every time a media company destroys an archive, every time a video game company prosecutes the preservers of content it has abandoned, every time a tech company kills a well-used product with no plan for preservation, these actions should be met with attention and resistance. We are on the brink of a dark age, or have already entered one." 13/

Can anyone suggest/comment on any deals for cellphone plans or thoughts on T-Mobiles cost?

I know it’s a broad question, but I currently have T-Mobile and the price is alright but I have an iPhone 11 and looking to get a 16 Pro Max for myself and a 16 Pro. But, T-Mobile has mentioned it will mean an increase in my plan from $89 a month, for my current 2 iPhone 11’s and 2 Apple watches, to $180 monthly for 5G.

But, I’m getting older, so less deal savvy, not to mention aware of all the current cellphone carriers or what’s a deal these days… I would appreciate if anyone here could share their thoughts or recommendations on the matter. Seeing in the past, theres a large pool of wisdom hidden in here. TIA.

We are with T-Mobile because we are still getting the same price for years, and the service is good where we live. We buy phones outside of the plan, and they either can be activated as is or sometimes they have to send a sim card.

The increase they predict for you is the payment for the devices, yes? Not the plan cost? Additional $90 a month for how long?

You could be right and it includes a phone cost, it would make sense. But they likely want more payment plans, despite wanting to pay mine off ASAP.

Iran Says ‘Critical’ for Syria Militants to Keep Distance from Israel english.almasirah.net.ye/post/…

For me, success is simple: I want to make a living without being at the mercy of another person’s whims.

I cannot be fired or laid off. No one is writing a performance review on me. I don’t have to fit into an organization’s culture.

Most importantly, if someone emails my “boss” because they’re unhappy about something I said on social media, it doesn’t matter—my “boss” (that is, me) agrees with everything I say.

your next problem is actually to make any money as a boss with that attitude.
@chris Oh, don’t worry. I make a living.🙂

Curious to hear what people do, now that "the internet" doesn't work.

Do not try to be Steve Jobs. Or, for that matter, Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk.

Do not try and make their habits your habits. You are not them. They are not you. Your life is your own.

Instead, ask yourself, “What do I, personally, see as success? And what does this look like for my life?”

I don't need to be, nor want to be a billionaire. Maybe we're arguing the same thing, lol. Personal success for me means maximizing agency, being able to use my time as I see fit.
@thestrangelet Yeah, we both agree that personal success means maximizing agency.

A successful migration?

If you’re successful at being self-employed, it likely isn’t exciting.

Despite the narratives about “riding the rocket ship,” excitement is not a good forward-looking sign.

Rather, success is boring. It is boring because it’s predictable, repeatable, and sustainable. In other words, boring is good.

I am successful at being self-employed, and court reporting work is most assuredly not boring. You have to stay on your toes, be a search engine master, be everyone's tech guru because most of the lawyers know less about Zoom than you. One day you can have a car accident case for insurance, and the next day you have a wrongful death suit against a company. love my self-employed job. I mean, I get work through an agency but work when I want, how I want, and do very disell.
1

@EdenLinnea Thanks, but I’m talking about “boring” from a financial perspective.

As a court reporter, I suspect you’ve encountered a few “exciting” jobs that resulted in a prison sentence.
