Jesus.
57% of white voters overall. 60% of WM. 53% of WW. Voted for a big fcking boot in the face. In an attempt to ensure those they hate (everyone) get stomped.
A Kickstarter game I backed with a Mi'kmaw story line that includes Mi'kmaq in speaking roles just reached its stretch goal for German and Spanish localization ❤️ The game is funded; the campaign ends Nov. 12th.
More data indicating that recent vaccination against Covid protects long Covid upon a breakthrough infection.
It remains better to try and avoid infection (wear a mask), but we are also living in a world where there are people spreading Covid everywhere. So if you can: get your booster.
‘No man will touch me until I have my rights back’: why is the 4B movement going viral after Trump’s win?
Demonstrators in South Korea swore off heterosexual dating in protest against misogyny. Now the movement is sparking interest among young American women
This guy gets it, one of the better explanations of what many people are feeling right now.
New, by me: The FBI is warning that hackers are gaining access to law enforcement and government email addresses to file fraudulent "emergency" data requests with U.S. companies to obtain user data — which is often then used for doxing and financial fraud.
The abuse of emergency data requests is not new, and has been widely reported in recent years; but this is a rare admission from the federal government about the threat from fraudulent emergency data requests.

404 on why the work matters:
“[W]e cannot set the bar for our success at the systemic saving of democracy. Instead, we have found that our work can and does make incremental positive change at the local, state, and federal level, and that, over time, these small improvements become increasingly important.”

Support indie media. Preferably those not using tech that platforms Nazis and makes oligarchs richer.
When Donald Trump won in 2016, we weren't sure if good journalism mattered anymore. Now, we're more sure than ever it does.Jason Koebler (404 Media)
In other words, "We must grovel within the system like quisling fucktards while Republicans throw shit -- actual shit -- at us, just for a few laughs at the office."
How about, instead, the French Fucking Resistance.
But nah, yah fucking spineless squatbags.
The Democratic senator urged Democrats to make the most of their limited time left in control of the Senate and White House.Lee Moran (HuffPost)
Like it will matter. We're fucked, because this is a sea change in national identity.
I'd suggest solutions, but...
After a brutal presidential election loss Tuesday, this week one liberal shitting on Latinos online harder and longer than anyone ever shit on Nancy Pelosi’s desk celebrated the silver lining that …The Needling
Gracias ya lo he encontrado.
Un motivo más para patear a cualquier israelí que uno se cruce. Me suda la polla el anti semitismo. No son judios son nazis sionistas.
Donald Trump has called for journalists and whistleblowers to be jailed, threatened to revoke broadcast licenses, and tried to censor online speech.
He’ll try to do all that and more in his second term.
We must fight back.

In 2023, me and my family were living in a red state. We started a fundraiser, raised enough to move, and now live in a blue state.
Roughly 70% of donations came from the Fediverse. Donations from people who have never met us, whom we have never met, probably never will meet. But you changed our lives for the better.
Mutual Aid from strangers made us safer. Whether it was 1 boost, 1 dollar, or 500 dollars. It made a difference.
Don’t forget it.
Yeah... mutual aid is another thing on the fediverse I'm blocking the fuck out of. There's too much bullshit like this in my feed. Stop begging on the Internet and go figure something the fuck out, like the rest of us fucked up motherfuckers, FFS.
The fediverse is worthless. We've accomplished nothing.
New open social media policy for myself...
I'm muting and blocking all the crap. That means business tips and project updates and activist propaganda and anything else that annoys me.
I've got one nerve, folks. One.
It's pretty insane people are dismissing the first #trans woman to reach the US Congress just because she's seemingly a Zionist, yet not that a large portion of said legislature will be misgendering, targeting their existence, and possibly even to the likes of censure or removal.
Remember Republicans only ditched George Santos for his duplicity because he's gay.
My truth. 🧵1/…
Many of you have asked me over the past weeks about my gut feeling on the election. I was honest… to a point. I consistently said I wasn’t as optimistic as many of you, most often replied with 🤞🏼. I sure couldn’t preach “no Debbie Downers” but then rebuff your wonderful hope with my deep doubts. So 🤞🏼was all I could muster while holding in/trying to ignore my fears. I wanted your optimism to infect me, but I couldn’t stop that gut feeling no matter how hard I tried.
@nomdeb time to look at the resistance in places like Venezuela.
The reality is that resistance to autocracies of any kind usually (always?) starts locally.
This is common knowledge to the enemy, which is why they've gone so hard after school boards.
They don't give a shit about curriculum. They care about controlling one of the most common starting places for local resistance. School boards--mind you not schools per se.
Those boards are powerful and easier to get in.
During my kid’s student-led parent-teacher videoconference, the teacher suggested adult supervision for homework, to which my kid responded: “So, not you, Dad”.
I consulted with the referee (my partner) and apparently the tackle was valid. Ouch.
